This rapidly growing football club based near Salisbury, Wiltshire acquired land to accommodate four football pitches and a clubhouse.

In the soil study the sandy loam topsoil was found to lie over sandy to sandy clay subsoil and this suggested reasonable permeability in certain areas.

In establishing a layout with good cross-pitch fall, swales were envisaged to restrict the flow of surface water on to the playing area.

It was considered to install further swales to limit the surface flow over the width of the plateau as only the main pitch was to be installed with secondary slit drains.
