Perhaps more than other sports, having a perfect playing surface for bowls is vital. As a bowling green consultant, my services are required in the areas of assessing whether the bowling green drainage is adequate (and what to do about it), and I can project manage the whole bowling green construction process, working with the contractors to ensure that the end result is perfect.

The construction of a bowling green is a precise undertaking. Furthermore, the management of a well-drained true level grass surface is a demanding and exacting responsibility if a consistent playing surface is to be maintained. Apart from the judicious control of watering, the maintenance programme must ensure a healthy and vigorous grass cover that maintains acceptable speed and trueness throughout the summer playing season.
