Land and specific site assessments incorporate a detailed study of soil and vegetation characteristics, environmental conditions and limitations - and performance measurements where applicable.

Wherever excavation and development is planned it is vital and cost-effective to assess the limitations of the soil types present - with particular reference to the strata below the topsoil. Soil analysis can be both chemical and physical in identifying conditions and content of soil. For high quality sportspitches and golf courses specific tests are carried out to gauge performance of natural soils or mixtures of selected sands and soils or organic matter.
